A detailed, personal note on the current situation

As many of you may have noticed, internal differences led to the insolvency of the former operating company behind the FRANKFURTER BRETT in mid-2025.

I - Johannes Schreiter, inventor of the Frankfurter Brett and owner of both the trademark and the patent — subsequently took over the insolvency assets in November 2025 and resumed operations in a highly reduced form.
The goal was to preserve the brand and the product and to make a fresh start possible.

After a phase with temporarily almost 40 employees, the team is currently very small. At the same time, shipping had to be reorganised at short notice, while parts of the inventory are still not fully under our control.

As a result, we are currently unable to offer the full range you may be used to.
We kindly ask for your understanding and a bit of patience.

What’s next for the Frankfurter Brett?

It will continue — and it will be good again.
Quite possibly even better than before.

With clarity, confidence, and a clear goal, a hard break like this can be turned into an opportunity. And I do have a goal.

I see this disruption as a chance for a true new beginning.

For around two years, I have been working on the next generation of the Frankfurter Brett — in CAD, in prototyping, and in my head.

Now is the right moment to prepare and implement this new chapter properly.

To do so, I am deliberately taking a step back for now:
no rushed ramp-up of logistics, marketing, staff, or day-to-day operations — but instead focus, calm, and substance.
Once the new products are fully developed, we will move forward at full speed again.

I am convinced this is the right path.

And when?

If everything goes according to plan: for the 2026 Christmas season.

Until then: clearance of the first generation

In parallel, there are still significant inventories of the first generation of the Frankfurter Brett.

Some of these items are already available; additional stock will be brought to us step by step. Further inventory — especially boards — is still located in our own production facility in Estonia.

By early March, the range should already be considerably broader again, and we will have adjusted the pricing structure — offering an attractive clearance opportunity that can later be expanded with accessories.

Signature accessories such as containers, interfaces, consoles, shelf consoles, and knife blocks are expected to return to the shop in their full range towards the end of the year.

And now, back to work.

At the moment, I’m doing most things myself again — just like in the early days when it all began.

That includes customer support.
If something isn’t right with your order, if you have suggestions for the next generation of the Frankfurter Brett, or if you simply want to send us a friendly note:

You’ll receive a short but friendly reply — directly from me.

Thank you for your attention.

Kind regards,
Johannes Schreiter and family
