After a long search, we finally found a reliable supplier for olive wood in sunny Calabria, who can produce end grain boards in our sizes and – much harder to find – in our quantities and quality standards.
How beautiful this wood is, however, can hardly be put into words:
The surface is smooth and reflective, the lively grain is pleasantly ordered by precise gluing and of intense, breathtaking wildness.
After 5 years in the cutting board business, nothing should really amaze us anymore, but this olive... oh boy.
The weight alone shows how special these boards are: If a regular Basic weighs about 3kg, a Basic in Olive weighs a full 4.5kg.

It is always 2 degrees cooler than you would expect. This difference makes every skin contact a subtle little surprise. Fantastic.
Olive end grain wood of this quality and strength is truly a genuine rarity – the wood is knotty and the processing complex, involving high material loss. We hope this supply source will establish itself in the long term.
